This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto office (250 Yonge Street) at a minimum 2 days per week - subject to change at any time.

YOUR FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create, review, execute Database script as per the request in production and non- production environments.

• Database monitoring and enhance database alerting

• Troubleshoot any database related issues in production and non-production environments.
• Support Interac application development and releases
• Support database automations activities
• Security: auditing, role separation
• Familiarity with Oracle Exadata is an asset

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE

 Minimum 3-5 years experience in a similar role.
 Understand and analyze instance performance, investigate performance issues, wait events, able to read and understand AWRs
 Strong experience with performance tuning of Oracle databases, highly available transactional systems, data replication, and database clusters.
 Read and write PL/SQL code. BUT, the job is not a development position. Normally every DBA has some knowledge of PLSQL, as it is a core of Oracle database.
 Understand and be able to write complex SQL queries, able to improve the performance of queries.
 Proficient in data structures, indexes, partitioning concepts, LOBS, compression.
 Unix/Linux experience and good knowledge of Shell scripting.
 Knowledge of highly available, distributed, multi-master databases.
 Understand Oracle infrastructure, RAC, dataguard, backup and recovery, HA concepts, Exadata knowledge is nice to have.
 Goldengate and other databases proficiency is a good addition, but not a must.
 Strong knowledge of different types of Oracle database objects including indexes, partitioning, materialized views, keys etc.
