Description

In this role , you will be responsible for the stable and secure operation of Microsoft SQL Server environments at our customers' sites. Your tasks will include, in particular :

  • Handling SLA-relevant incidents, service requests and changes during ongoing operations
  • Ticket processing and troubleshooting in a production-related environment
  • Operation, maintenance and further development of Microsoft SQL Server environments
  • Analysis and optimization of performance, stability and availability
  • Implementation of measures in the areas of security, backup/restore, and monitoring
  • Performing maintenance, patch management, upgrades and migrations
  • Participation in projects related to the operation, modernization, and migration of SQL server platforms.
  • Creation and maintenance of technical documentation as well as communication in the customer context

Responsibilities
  • They are responsible for the development and expansion of our geo-redundant, highly available database infrastructure, as well as all database architecture topics for the DRV's data center.
  • Your responsibilities also include developing standards and specifications for the provision and operation of databases (Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL) and relevant tools, including the creation of database architecture planning documents.
  • This involves creating concepts for a future database architecture in close collaboration with the respective stakeholders, formulating appropriate database architecture goals, identifying necessary individual architecture development steps, coordinating these steps, and making corresponding governance decisions.
  • They work in projects and working groups, as well as in complex, cross-departmental system developments, and support the department's database strategy.
  • They plan the migration to future database architectures, ensure compliance with the requirements of the enterprise architecture, and obtain corresponding implementation decisions.
  • They support the further development of automation in our Database Management area.
