Description
Your Role The Operations Team in our Bangalore office has a key position available for a Database Administrator with Top level SQL Server and T-SQL experience. In this position, you will have the opportunity to wear many hats and to learn a wide variety of technologies. This role is part of the Data Platform Group which owns traditional duties such as managing backups, performance tuning and security. This team also owns and maintains the company’s data warehouse. Cross collaboration with other teams such as IT or Finance will be required. We are looking for candidates who are ready to roll up their sleeves and solve problems. In addition, we are looking for this role to be the one of the firms Power BI Administrators. What You Will Do Have expert knowledge of SQL and T-SQL from troubleshooting to installation, backup and restoring Setup and maintain various SQL Replication and Change Data Tracking channels Good level of experience with Azure SQL and Azure Synapse Analytics Be aware of Microsoft AD security. Provide excellent analytical support for complex or escalated issues Represent Gensler’s Data Team, becoming the source of knowledge to train, educate, fix or escalate problems to and answer questions from employees worldwide Identify areas in need of improvement and collaborate with internal teams across all Gensler to create scalable solutions. Handle the batch/agent job scheduling system for the data team. Possess superior communication skills with the ability to simplify and explain complex problems, listen to and empathize with others. Provide daily monitoring of all data center systems including but not limited to servers, workstations. Report and document all abnormalities and resolutions to the appropriate resources for remediation. Communicate significant events to the Data Team and management team. Maintain and distribute Data Operations Policies and Procedure manual changes as approved by the Data Team. Provide first and second level support to the Gensler Help Desk for the Data Team. Optimize a query using native tools or 3rd party tools. Have an awareness of other database technologies like MongoDB and Postgres. Initiative to propose and create appropriate solutions for changing situations Willingness to learn new technologies and new ways of approaching projects Your Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer’s science or equivalent 3-5 years’ experience in a database administrator position Strong working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Engine Experience with SQL replication and Change Data Capture Experience with Backup, Restore and Recovery processes Experience with SSRS, SSIS and PowerBI administration Conceptual understanding of ERP application Working knowledge of MongoDB administration Effective problem solver, ability to conceptualize, critical thinking skills Knowledge of Idera, HVR and SolarWinds will be a huge a plus Life at Gensler At Gensler, we are as committed to enjoying life as we are to delivering best in-class design.
