DO YOU HAVE CORE DB SQL SERVER EXPERIENCE?

If you answered “yes” to all three, you might be exactly who we’re looking for!

ABOUT PROCODE

We’re powering digital transformation through smart, scalable technology. We build solutions that make a real difference, whether it’s for our clients, our communities, or our people. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a skilled and proactive Database Administrator to join our team and help us maintain the integrity, performance, and scalability of our data systems.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

We’re looking for someone with deep technical expertise and a collaborative mindset. You should have expert-level knowledge of relational database systems across multiple vendors. This includes a strong grasp of installation best practices, performance troubleshooting and enhancement, capacity planning, and code optimisation. You’ll also need to be proficient in SQL query tuning and understand techniques for ensuring high availability and scalability. Experience in data protection, backup, and recovery of database-stored information is essential.
In addition, you should have a solid working knowledge of IT infrastructure, particularly storage systems, and be familiar with user access control principles. Exposure to non-relational database types, such as key-pair stores and time series databases, is also valuable.
A good understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) is important, as is familiarity with ITIL processes including event, incident, problem, and change management. Holding an ITIL V3 or V4 Foundation certification would be a strong advantage, as it demonstrates your ability to navigate and apply these frameworks effectively within a technical environment.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As a Database Administrator, you’ll be at the heart of our data operations, ensuring our databases are secure, efficient, and future-proof. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining database procedures and documentation.
  • Managing database configurations, installations, upgrades, and performance tuning.
  • Monitoring database activity and resource usage to optimize performance.
  • Collaborating with software development teams to improve query efficiency and application performance.
  • Designing and managing database backup & recovery strategies
  • Providing high availability and scalability techniques for relevant database products
  • Automating provisioning, testing, and deployment of database objects.
  • Identifying and resolving operational issues, contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Supporting virtualised environments and contributing to installation and maintenance planning.
