JOB DESCRIPTION

FinXL IT is seeking a highly skilled and motivated SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) with strong experience in Azure to join our dynamic team at a large financial services organisation. As a key member of our database management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, security, and reliability of our SQL Server databases across both on-premises and cloud environments. Your primary focus will be on optimising and managing SQL Server infrastructure within Microsoft Azure, ensuring that our business-critical systems are operating at their highest potential.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • A background in financial services as an SQL Server Database Administrator

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Strong experience with SQL Server (versions 2016 and above) in both on-premises and Azure environments.
  • Expertise in Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Azure services such as Blob Storage, Azure Monitor, and Virtual Networks.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and cloud-based database deployment.
  • Experience with SQL Server performance tuning, indexing, and query optimisation across hybrid environments.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, or similar cloud-based automation tools is highly desirable.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database performance issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on documentation, compliance, and best practices.
