In this highly-visible role, you play a key role in the software development efforts of our archiving application. We are looking for very sharp people who are not just good creating software solutions. Besides strong coding acumen, we are searching for really talented individuals who are energetic and passionate about abstracting and solving complex real-world problems. We’re a newly launched growing software solutions shop, and we need people who are able to take initiative and are responsible when required to meet deadlines.
We are conducting a search for a high-level, strategic Database Developer/Architect for a mission critical Fleet Management System. This is an opportunity for someone with solid DBA and development skills to move beyond that day to day tactical database decisions and leverage them into a long term strategic vision. Although requiring some hands on work, we require a person that will take a strategic role in product planning, scalability and overall site architecture.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Several Years working with SQL Server 2000.
• Experience writing T- SQL scripts, stored procedures, and DTS packages.
• Experience implementing high-volume, high-performance, and high-reliability database installations.
• Experience with complex joins, sub-queries, building temp tables, set-based operations, and data manipulation
• Experience with XML, and manipulating XML data in queries and result sets.
• Experience designing databases for access from a web site.
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience coding web sites in a language like ASP.NET/C#, Java, Perl, or PHP, especially coding to query and insert data into a database from a web front end.
• Experienced with Oracle.
• Experience with database design and development for an eCommerce web site
• Experienced with security issues, such as encryption techniques and best practices for network and database security.
• Experience with Microsoft Commerce Server

• Take strategic ownership of the database architecture
• Control the direction of the data model and stored procedure API
• Make decisions related to database hardware.
• Make decisions about load testing & performance tuning on the database.
• Be the go-to person for recommendations on scalability, partitioning and data archiving. Lead the effort to determine the correct path to take with respect to data warehousing & data mining.
• Make decisions with respect to database security.
