REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with MySQL.
• 3+ years working with AWS RDS / Aurora.
• 2+ years of MongoDB experience in production environments.
• 1+ year with EKS, GitHub, and Datadog.
• Proven track record as a Development DBA or Database Architect.
• Experience in database performance tuning and query optimization.
• Familiarity with cloud security principles and automation strategies.
• Solid understanding of the SDLC and agile development environments.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
• Background in data migration, disaster recovery, and multi-environment support.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• CI/CD for database deployments.
• Exposure to container orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with other AWS services such as Lambda, CloudWatch, and IAM.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Senior Database Developer/Database Architect to join a high-performing team focused on building scalable, cloud-based data infrastructure. This is a hands-on development-focused role (not a production DBA position), ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and brings deep technical expertise in MySQL, AWS, and MongoDB.
You’ll work closely with developers and other DBAs to design, optimize, and support robust data solutions that power mission-critical applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, implement, and manage MySQL Aurora databases in AWS.
• Optimize AWS RDS instances for performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
• Support MongoDB implementation for high-performance workloads.
• Work with EKS (Kubernetes) to deploy and orchestrate database services.
• Collaborate with development teams to define efficient data models and queries.
• Manage database schemas and code using GitHub and Flyway.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance using Datadog and AWS tools.
• Ensure data integrity, availability, and compliance with industry best practices.
