About the Role
A growing technology team is hiring a Database Engineer to support the design and optimization of secure, cloud-based data environments. This is a full-time, remote position requiring U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance. Ideal candidates will bring hands-on experience with modern database tools, scripting, and cloud migration.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL)
• Build and optimize data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks
• Improve database performance via indexing, query tuning, and storage management
• Support cloud migration and modernization of legacy systems
• Implement monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery strategies
• Automate database maintenance using Python, PowerShell, or similar
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure and efficient data flow

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in database engineering or administration
• Active Secret clearance (must be adjudicated and visible in DISS)
• Proficiency in SQL and relational database systems
• Experience with Azure Data Factory and Databricks (Required)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
• Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in federal or DoD environments
• DoD 8140 compliance (e.g., Security+) preferred
• Familiarity with Agile development tools like Jira
• Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS) are a plus

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $115,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
