Description
GoMining is seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer to join our team and ensure the performance, scalability, and reliability of our databases. This role is ideal for someone passionate about data architecture, high-performance database systems, and large-scale analytics in fast-paced fintech and crypto environments. You will play a critical role in designing database solutions, optimizing queries, managing replication, and ensuring data integrity. Responsibilities: Database Architecture & Design Design, implement, and optimize database schemas for high-performance applications. Develop strategies for data partitioning, replication, and scaling. Evaluate and implement new database technologies for performance and reliability. Maintenance & Optimization Monitor database performance and implement query optimization, indexing, and caching strategies. Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery plans. Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning for production workloads. Collaboration & Support Work closely with developers and SRE/DevOps teams to ensure database efficiency, reliability, and availability. Provide database expertise for application design and system architecture. Automate database management tasks using scripts and tools. Strong expertise in PostgreSQL (primary), Redis, RabbitMQ, and optionally NoSQL databases. Experience with high availability, replication, clustering, and sharding. Proficiency in SQL, PL/pgSQL, or other procedural languages. Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools for databases (Grafana, Prometheus, Zabbix, or equivalent). Experience with automation and CI/CD for database deployment. Solid understanding of backup, restore, and disaster recov Nice to have: Experience with cloud-managed databases (AWS RDS, GCP Cloud SQL, DigitalOcean Managed DBs). Familiarity with data warehousing / analytics platforms (BigQuery, ClickHouse, Redshift). Experience with streaming systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) for real-time data pipelines. Knowledge of database security best practices, including encryption, key management, and role-based access. Experience or strong interest in Web3 and crypto technologies, including blockchain-based data systems or decentralized applications.
