Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Database Engineer to join a Federal Program located in Washington, DC. The Database Engineer will support Department of Energy by managing and administering databases, designing and implementing solutions based on user requirements, and collaborating with teams to define data access needs and analyzing transaction rates and volumes.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE DATABASE ENGINEER INCLUDE:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Must have an Active Top Secret or Q Clearance
  • Proven experience as a PL/SQL Developer or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of database concepts, design, and normalization.
  • Proficient in PL/SQL, Oracle SQL, and performance tuning.
  • Skilled in VBA for automation tasks.
  • Solid knowledge of HTML and CSS for web development.
  • Experienced with Unix shell scripting for system operations.
  • Programming Languages: PL/SQL, VBA, HTML/CSS, Unix Shell Scripting.
  • Cloud Technologies: Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Oracle Cloud Services.
  • Databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL (4+ years), MS SQL Server (3+ years), DynamoDB.
  • Architectures: 3-tier, 2-tier, N-tier.
  • GIS: PostGIS.
  • Operating Systems: Solaris, Unix, Hyper-V Linux, Windows, Red Hat Linux, Oracle VM.
  • Active Data Guard/Data Guard Configuration (5+ years), GoldenGate (5+ years).
Responsibilities
