Description
As a Database Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain secure, highly available, and scalable database solutions in hybrid computing environments that support business continuity objectives and follow industry best practices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement highly available (HA) database platforms that meet business and continuity requirements. You will develop and deploy database solutions, contributing to the definition and enforcement of development standards and best practices. You will design, build, and maintain Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to ensure accurate and efficient data integration. You will manage database backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity and availability. You will implement and maintain database security controls, including access management, authentication, encryption, and compliance with standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, HIPAA). You will monitor and tune database performance, proactively identifying issues and driving resolutions to meet uptime and SLA goals. You will develop automation solutions using PowerShell, Python, or SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to improve efficiency and reduce manual tasks.. You will maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration guidelines, and operational procedures, to support team knowledge and compliance. You will collaborate closely with application developers, system administrators, and business stakeholders to deliver database solutions that meet project and operational needs. You will administer and optimize databases across on-premises and cloud environments (e.g., Azure SQL), ensuring seamless integration, performance, and security across platforms. Experienced – You have two (2) years of experience in Information Technology. Desired – We hope you have a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Business Administration. We also hope you have experience in database engineering or administration.
