Description

To address the growing demands within the Department of Defense, SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Data Engineer to support the data, analytics, digital, and AI capabilities of our Digital and AI Team. As we embark on a new initiative leading the design, solutioning, and operations of integrated Enterprise IT solutions, we are dedicated to delivering world-class AI-enabled capabilities and enabling data-driven decision making to global missions across the Department, Services, and Combatant Commands.
The Ideal candidate will be adept at managing customer relationships, driving operational excellence, and fostering continuous improvement across all service areas in a global environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• ITIL certification is a plus.
• Security+ Certification.
• SAFe, Agile/Scrum/PMP certification(s) is ideal.
• Familiarity with working with API’s and JSON and XML file formats.
• Experience working with programming languages such as Python.
• Experience working in a DoD environment supporting Combatant Commands and Joint Staff in an enterprise IT environment, across multiple domains and various clearance levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 9 years of experience or 13 years of experience in lieu of degree
• Experience working in an Agile Community, using Agile methodology for product and project management.
• Hands-on experience with Talend for ETL/ELT processes and Qlik Replicate for data replication and CDC.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases, as well as experience with large-scale data integration projects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
• US citizenship and Secret security clearance is required. Must be able to obtain, or maintain, the security clearance as required

• Develops and documents data pipelines for the ingest, transformation, and preparation of data for Artificial Intelligence applications.
• Designs and implements scalable technologies such as streaming transformation for joining, analyzing, and processing disparate data sets into features for predictive analytics using API technologies.
• Develops API interfaces to facilitate data accessibility.
• Designs reusable standardized data pipelines.
• Documents failover and continuity of operations (COOP) plans for data systems and participate in testing failover capabilities as required.
• Maintains data catalogs based on functions, cataloging, labeling, and ingesting structured and unstructured data.
• Tasks include requirements definitions, analysis and engineering, integration activities, validation and verification, operational maintenance, and performance analysis.
• Coordinates with corporate and government customers to develop and determine requirements and adapt to changing needs.
• Applies a combination of expert engineering knowledge of enterprise IT solutions to design, develop and/or implement solutions to ensure they are consistent with enterprise architecture policies and industry best practices.
• Leads the design in system specifications, input/output processes, and parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
• Performs the pre-analytics areas of data collection and understanding, data cleansing and integration, and data storage and retrieval.
• Determines the appropriate analytics based on the data and the desired outcomes, using techniques including feature detection, statistics, data mining, predictive modeling, machine learning, natural language processing, and business intelligence.
• Interprets the validity of results and communicates the meaning of those results.
• Has familiarity with data wrangling, analytics, and visualization software and programming languages, including analytics methods for big data.
• Supports incident response, digital forensics, loss prevention, and eDiscovery actions.
• Researches and evaluates capabilities, tools, and products against operational requirements and introduces them to the enterprise in alignment with IT strategy.
• Ensures appropriate compliance regulations are established and upheld, including documenting lint standards, the utilization of source code repositories, unit testing, CI/CD pipelines, code peer review, etc.
• Employs DevSecOps when developing, testing, and maintaining data pipelines.
