Purpose and Scope: The Database Engineer V designs, develops, and maintains data processing systems and tools. It involves analyzing customer needs, determining system requirements, designing data structures, ensuring compatibility across platforms, and documenting technical specifications. This position also evaluates new technologies and recommends improvements to enhance data handling and system performance. Responsibilities: Technical Design & Analysis Gather information from existing systems and define program requirements. Provide technical guidance on complex program and system challenges. Develop detailed specifications and design solutions to meet complex business needs. Conduct technical analysis and assist project teams in resolving system issues. Write DDL scripts and update database structures for Oracle and Redshift Tune database performance. Evaluate multi-data-mart integrations and recommend solutions and testing approaches. Data Warehousing & Modeling Perform gap/impact analyses on source changes and requirements. Write complex SQL queries for large, multi-format datasets. Analyze data warehouse scenarios, including AWS Glue ETL flows Lead data analysis and design logical/physical data models (relational and dimensional). Document source-to-target logic, mappings, BI objects, and data quality rules. Manage metadata across ERwin, Oracle, Redshift, AWS Glue, and MicroStrategy. Develop and maintain data architecture standards and documentation. Requirements Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in related field or equivalent years of experience 10+ years related experience Minimum of 7 years of systems analysis experience in a data warehouse environment using MS tools (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project) Minimum of 3 years of recent hands-on architecting data warehouse solutions. Must possess effective organizational, interpersonal, oral and written skills Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities and close attention to detail. Must be a team player able to multi-task in a dynamic environment Extensive working knowledge of the SDLC and the associated processes and documentation. This position requires access to information subject to U.S. government regulations. Only U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents may be considered due to government contract requirements Preferred Qualifications: Experience implementing solutions in AWS Glue, MicroStrategy (2019 or higher), Oracle (10g or higher), and Redshift environment with a strong background in SQL commands/ functions/ Procedures and database data modeling tools similar to Erwin, source to target mapping tools similar to Erwin Mapping Manager. Working Environment: eSimplicity supports a remote work environment operating within the Eastern time zone so we can work with and respond to our government clients. Expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern unless otherwise directed by your manager. Occasional travel for training and project meetings. It is estimated to be less than 5% per year.
