Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Databricks Architect to join a growing team in support of a federal government agency. This is a fully remote position offering the opportunity to lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud-based data solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SENIOR DATABRICKS ARCHITECT INCLUDE:

  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of related experience, or Master’s degree and 5+ years of experience.
  • Proven experience in cloud engineering and architecture, with a focus on event-driven solutions.
  • Expertise in public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle).
  • Proficiency with Databricks and big data ecosystems.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex architectures to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Databricks certification and other relevant AI/ML or cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement event-driven architectures to support scalable GenAI applications.
  • Refactor and rehost existing applications onto cloud platforms, optimizing for performance and scalability.
  • Develop and optimize Databricks solution architectures for large-scale data processing and analytics.
  • Engineer Bedrock solution architectures for infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Define and execute deployment architectures for automated and reliable application delivery.
  • Establish and enforce security architectures to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
  • Translate business requirements into technical use case solution architectures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth deployment of cloud services.
  • Document architectural decisions and develop best practice guidelines.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and recommend strategic adaptations.
