Tamarack Resort is seeking qualified candidates that love working with children! The Childcare Attendant position will be taking on the tasks of the day-to-day care of the children enrolled in our childcare centers and is supported by the rest of the childcare staff. They will offer exceptional care to all children and superior customer service to everyone they encounter! RESPONSIBILTIES INCLUDE: Provide attentive and age-appropriate care to children from infancy through age 12, maintaining a safe and interactive environment. Supervise and monitor the safety of children in our care, both indoors and outdoors. Actively engage with children using redirection and positive behavior reinforcement techniques. Develop monthly themes and plan related activities that encourage hands-on learning, creativity, and social interaction. Lead and participate in daily crafts, circle time, pretend play, outdoor adventures, and story time. Observe and respond to each child's individual needs with patience and understanding, fostering a supportive space where children feel valued and heard. Ensure children’s well-being by following all Idaho Central District Health childcare guidelines. Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of toys, surfaces, linens, and all areas to maintain a safe, hygienic environment. Prepare, serve, and clean up meals and snacks according to health and safety protocols, promoting good hygiene and healthy habits among children. Communicate effectively and respectfully with parents/guardians and coworkers. Diaper changes and toilet assistance. Follow childcare policies and procedures to ensure the well-being of everyone. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Must be over the age of 16 years old. Ability to work full-time, including weekends and holidays. Physically capable of sitting, standing, and lifting children daily. High levels of patience, empathy, and creativity. Background check clearance through the Department of Health and Welfare or willingness to obtain. Commitment to completing the annual IdahoSTARS training (12 hours). Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain. Strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task. Strong computer skills. Perform other duties as assigned. EDUCATION High School Diploma or GED PREFERRED SKILLS Strong understanding of child development principles and the ability to employ positive redirection and behavior management. Team-oriented, communicative, and responsive to the needs of children, families, and team. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, maintaining engagement and enthusiasm throughout daily routines and activities. Previous childcare experience working in a childcare setting. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Fluent in English. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to do basic arithmetic. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to identify problems and derive possible solutions. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Frequent bending, climbing, kneeling squatting, twisting/turning from waist and pushing/pulling objects. Will be working with hands and fingers, lifting and moving objects up to 40 pounds horizontally and vertically on a regular basis. Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time. able to work in fluctuating temperatures.
