Job Title: Day Centre Coordinator Location: Spondon, Derby Contract: 10 hours Salary: Starting at £14.00 per hour About us We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Day Centre Coordinator to join the team at Radfield Care – Derby. Our adult day care centre in Spondon, Derby provides a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment where older adults can socialise, take part in meaningful activities, and feel supported. We deliver person-centred care, tailored to each individual, with trained Care Professionals on site. Make a difference in your local community The Role We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Day Centre Coordinator to lead and deliver a varied programme of activities that supports clients’ wellbeing, independence, and quality of life. In this part-time role you will oversee the smooth running of day-to-day operations, support staff and clients, and ensure a welcoming, engaging, and safe environment. The position requires excellent organisational skills, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently. Core hours are 6 hours on Fridays, with an additional 4 flexible hours throughout the week, offering a balance of structure and flexibility while making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we support. Key Requirements Aged 18 or over Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle No sponsorship required This role involves working with vulnerable adults and is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references. Main Responsibilities Plan, organise, and deliver engaging weekly activity programmes Create activity planners tailored to individual needs, including dementia support Maintain accurate care plans, risk assessments, consultations, reviews and daily records Encourage social interaction and mental stimulation Provide emotional support and companionship Lead and support a small team Promote Radfield Day Centre within the local community Celebrate seasonal, cultural, and national events in an inclusive way Ensure the day centre operates in line with CQC standards, policies, and procedures Promote safeguarding, dignity, and person-centred care at all times About You You are compassionate, reliable, and organised, with a genuine passion for supporting older people. You communicate confidently in both spoken and written English, building positive relationships with clients, families, and colleagues. You work well independently, making sound decisions in the best interests of those in your care, and collaborate effectively as part of a team. Above all, you treat everyone with dignity, respect, and professionalism, consistently providing safe and high-quality support.
