ABOUT US:

We are a welcoming and community-focused charity, Sutton Old Peoples’ Welfare Committee. We run a day centre for older people, offering companionship, activities, and meals in a safe, supportive environment. Our mission is to enhance wellbeing, reduce isolation, and bring joy to the lives of those we serve.

THE ROLE:

We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and reliable individual to join our team. This is a varied role that combines kitchen support with leading and assisting activities for our members. You’ll need to be flexible, organised, and able to multitask, with a genuine passion for supporting older people.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with preparing and serving meals, following food hygiene standards
• Help maintain a clean and safe kitchen and dining environment
• Plan, organise, and deliver engaging activities (arts, games, social events, etc.)
• Support members to participate and feel included
• Provide a friendly, welcoming presence and build positive relationships
• Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to keep the centre running smoothly
