CONCHO VALLEY COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS HEAD START DEPARTMENT NOTICE OF JOB OPENING  Day EHS/HS Cook HEAD START/EARLY HEAD START COOK REQUIREMENTS: * Food preparation experience is preferred; * Must be willing to obtain and maintain Basic First Aid; * Experience in food preparation and inventory control preferred; * Knowledge of food preparation and storage techniques are helpful; * Knowledge of USDA/CACFP program requirements and Head Start Performance Standards and Day Care Licensing related to food and nutrition is needed; * Knowledge of the local, state and federal regulations pertaining to sanitation and food service; * Knowledge of regulations associated with prevention of occupational disease and injury, including the exercise of universal precautions and the prevention of contamination. The position of Head Start/Early Head Start Cook provides healthy meals for the children in the program. A strong food service division is important in supporting the goals of the program. This position is responsible for the ordering, preparation, service, and documentation of meals and snacks.
