Description:

To work as part of team of Early Years Educators, promoting ensuring high quality care and education for children aged 3 months up to 4.5 years old, in line with current childcare regulations and best practice. To foster strong social and life skills in children and to support the children in becoming active leaners. To work with all stakeholders, ensuring that the needs and emerging interests of the children are core in all actions carried out with and for the children. To work closely with the parent’s group in a confidential and respectful manner. To act as advocates for the children in the Day Nursery and liaise with other professionals in the best interest of the child.
A panel will be formed from applicants not successful on this occasion but deemed appointable for future posts. At the end of this competition, the Day Nursery will create a panel of suitably qualified individuals to fill Day Nursery Assistant vacancies. In the event that a Day Nursery Assistant position becomes available within 6 months of the interview date, the candidates who are deemed appointable from this competition will be offered the next available Day Nursery Assistant post.
Post status: Permanent Contract
Hours of Post: 35 hours per week
Salary: This appointment will be made on the Fortnightly Day Nursery Assistant Salary Scale (€964.06- €1,261.76 per fortnight) at a point in line with current Government pay policy. monthly/weekly payscales. (tcd.ie)
