IDEALLY HAVING MOBILE PLANT AND WEIGHBRIDGE EXPERIENCE

Reporting directly to the Day Operations Team Leader, the Day Operator (Shift) will carry out the day-to-day operational activities safely, efficiently and in line with Encyclis procedures, whilst ensuring the facility is operationally compliant with the environment permit.
Hours of work Monday to Friday split between 05:30 to 13:30 and 13:00 to 21:00 including two Saturday mornings 05:30-13:30 a month as directed by the Day Operations Team Leader or Operations Manager.
Qualifications:

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • The preferred levels of education are to National Vocational Qualification Level 2 in a related industry or subject, although relevant other qualifications with energy recovery or large process plant experience will be considered for the role.
  • Previous heavy mobile plant certification (Road Sweeper, Loading Shovel, Forklift, Telescopic Handler) is highly desirable however, training will be provided on all mobile plant and attachments.
  • Weighbridge operations including vehicle checks and control.
  • This role requires a broad background in logistics, waste handling and traffic management activities.
  • Demonstrates commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, specifically to include the accurate recording of detailed shift logs.
  • Ability to safely follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work within a supervised small team and work on their own initiative.
  • Ability to take appropriate safe action on their own initiative or directed to prevent equipment damage, optimise plant availability and prevent injury to personnel during emergencies or unusual situations.
  • Ability to share knowledge and experiences.
  • Ability to recognise problems and assist in providing effective solutions.
Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Reporting any Health, Safety and Environmental unsafe conditions, accidents or incidents to the Day Operations Team Leader.
  • Loading ash residues into vehicle trailers and the safe operation of the ash handling hall system.
  • Waste crane operations include bunker stock management, removal of any non-conforming waste, waste hopper feeding.
  • Tipping hall operations include traffic management, safe operation and monitoring HGV waste deliveries and collections. Carry out visual waste inspections.
  • Complete weighbridge operations including driver inductions, waste acceptance, operating the weighbridge system, reporting and managing any non-conforming deliveries or safety infringements by drivers or visitors to site.
  • Supervise the unloading of consumable deliveries.
  • Support the Day Operations Team Leader with coordination and communication of the safe working practices of site staff and contractors.
  • Take ownership of plant cleanliness and ensure excellent standards of housekeeping are maintained.
  • Complete and sign off routine inspections of mobile plant, including any attachments and additional equipment to ensure the safe operation of mobile plant.
  • Ensuring all operational logs and records are maintained and any facility or vehicle defects are reported in a timely manner.
  • Assist Day Operations Team Leader in their role of report writing and stock control.
  • Day shift members could be called to assist the shift team when blockages occur in operational areas.
