Description Under the supervision of the IT & Operations Manager, the Day Porter is responsible for facilitating superior library service to patrons through the care and light maintenance of library grounds, facilities, property and equipment to ensure a clean, safe and welcoming environment for patrons, visitors and staff. Specific responsibilities and functions will be assigned by the IT & Operations Manager based on experience, skills, and specific needs of the library. Requirements Perform light cleaning duties including sweep, mop or vacuum of floors; gather and empty trash; dust furniture, walls and equipment; scrub and sanitize restroom fixtures and equipment Ensure the usability of public and staff areas by regularly refilling supplies Maintain inventory of cleaning and janitorial supplies and submit requisitions for replenishment as needed Arrange furniture and equipment required for events and meetings set-up Assist in the care and maintenance of external grounds and property, including basic landscaping clean up and seasonal light snow removal Respond to and resolve basic issues with facilities, property, or equipment. Escalate more serious problems to IT & Operations Manager Follow all safety procedures in use of cleaning products and supplies, as well as when moving equipment, materials, and supplies Assist in planning of daily and weekly cleaning and maintenance procedures Other responsibilities and duties as assigned
