WHY WE DO IT To create meaningful impact for our team, our families, and our community WHO WE WANT We are seeking a reliable and proactive Day Porter to join our team. This is a temporary part time position with the potential for part time work after the summer, depending on need and performance. The work week can be determined in coordination with the manager, so this is a great opportunity for someone looking for flexibility during the week. WHAT YOU'LL DO In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, organization, and upkeep of facilities. This includes a combination of routine cleaning tasks, support for facility operations, and attention to building safety. You will contribute to a safe, well-maintained, and pleasant environment for both staff and visitors. General Cleaning Tasks: Communicates daily with the Maintenance Manager about needs, issues, and updates Keeps building exteriors clean, including common areas and dumpster enclosures Empties trash bins and recycling containers throughout the property Maintains cleanliness of entries and general overall upkeep of the property Ensures all entrances, parking lots, and walkways are free of debris and hazards Assists with snow removal, landscaping, or exterior cleaning during inclement weather Assists other team members Identifies maintenance opportunities and relays that information to the Property Manager Relays information to Property Managers about issues with other vendors' compliance (e.g., Landscaping) Assists Maintenance if needed Maintaining entryways and lobbies, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming; cleaning glass and furniture surfaces; emptying trash receptacles and replacing liners; reporting any maintenance needs Maintaining hallways and common areas (both indoor and outdoor), including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, checking for mess and spills and addressing immediately, paying attention to signage and ensuring it is in quality working order Ensuring restrooms are stocked with necessary supplies, and cleaning sinks, counters, mirrors, toiled, and floors are clean; emptying trash cans and replacing liners, and reporting any plumbing issues or maintenance needs Safety & Compliance: Ensures compliance with all safety and health regulations, maintaining a clean and hazard-free environment Performs inspections of facilities and equipment to identify potential maintenance issues and proactively addresses them Maintains inventory of maintenance supplies and requests additional items when needed Follows all company policies and procedures related to safety, cleanliness, and building maintenance Customer Service: Greet and assist employees, guests, and vendors in a friendly and professional manner Respond to requests for additional support or cleaning in a timely manner Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding concerns or issues Properly documenting tasks completed and accurately recording time WHAT YOU NEED Education In school or diploma required Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, standing, bending, and working in various weather conditions. Some duties may be able to be performed with accommodations, if needed Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with building occupants and team members A proactive and reliable work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to handle emergency situations effectively and efficiently A valid driver’s license is required A clean Motor Vehicle Record is required PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Proven experience in maintenance, custodial work, or a similar role Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures Effective written and oral communication skills Contribution to Waypoint’s commitment to community, volunteering time to a community non-profit WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL NOTIFICATIONS Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs. This role may require working in various weather conditions or after-hours for emergency maintenance. Expected Salary Range: $15.16-$18 per hour commensurate with experience. This is a seasonal, temporary position with the potential to continue as a part time position depending on needs.
Responsibilities
