Description Job Title: Day Porter FLSA Status: Part-Time Reports to: Executive Director Aquatics & Facilities Position Summary: Provides exceptional customer service by helping to maintain the cleanliness of the YMCA of Greater Whittier. Create a sage and welcoming atmosphere for all individuals. Build positive relationships with members and program participants through effective listening and verbal skills and creatively finds ways to connect them to one another and the Y community. Essential Functions: 1. Provide exceptional customer service 2. Inspect all public lavatories per shift for cleanliness and maintenance of an adequate supply of toiletries for replenishment of soap, hand towels, toilet paper, and seat covers 3. Wipe down sinks and pick up throughout the shift. 4. Empty trash receptacles 5. Help keep the fitness equipment clean. 6. Comply with policies, procedures, and security requirements 7. Demonstrates through interaction with staff, Y members, and the public the four Character Development Principles of the YMCA: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. 8. Grounds cleanliness. 9. Minor maintenance repairs. 10. Additional tasks and duties and needed. YMCA Competencies (Leader): Mission Advancement: Accepts and demonstrates the Ys values. High School Diploma or GED required. 2. Ability to maintain customer confidentiality. 3. General understanding of janitorial cleaning.
