Role description
To maintain and continuously improve the operation of the IS machines, in order to maximize production efficiencies at all times

REQUIRED SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:

In-depth understanding if IS machine mechanical operations.
Good working knowledge of Job change operations and procedures
Understanding of Forehearth and feeder operations
Good working knowledge of container specification checks
Understanding of standard operating quality control procedures

Responsibilities

Achieve efficient operations of the IS (Independent Section) machine as effectively as possible after a job change in order to minimise the loss of production.
Monitor the performance of the IS machines directly responding to any changes in order to maximise production efficiencies
Carry out adjustments to electronic timing systems when required in order to improve the efficiency of the IS Machine operation
Co-ordinate machine trials when required, to ensure that new or modified bottles can be accurately produced in accordance with customer specifications
Liaise with feeder and forehearth team when adjustments need to be made to glass temperature, gob weight and shape, in-order to achieve maximum production efficiencies
Identify and highlight the need for variable IS machine equipment to be changed, referring to required personnel in order to maintain and improve efficient machine operations
Assist SPE (Shift Production Engineer) and Machine Operator when required in rectifying mechanical malfunctions and container defects in order to minimise downtime
Establish and maintain an effective communication flow between colleagues and supervision in order to maintain a well-informed team
Identify and implement improvements to job change procedures, working methods and the IS machines in order to improve production efficiencies, and ensure containers meet necessary specifications.
Create and update JO-JO (Job on Job off) files in order to create a database that provides an accurate reference point
