OVERVIEW

The Day Program Facilitator plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for teenagers/youths with autism and developmental disabilities, some of whom are complex cases. This position involves developing, implementing, and overseeing engaging programs tailored to meet the unique needs of the clients in the Caledon and Bolton region. The ideal candidate will possess a compassionate demeanour and a strong commitment to ensuring that all activities promote dignity, respect, and well-being among teenagers/youths.

SKILLS

  • Experience in day programs and camps is mandatory.
  • Experience working one-on-one and in group settings with youths with developmental disabilities.
  • Experience in program development for camps.
  • Education in behavioural science, special needs, autism and behavioural science, and developmental support worker, and other relevant education is mandatory.
  • Experience in data collection.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and staff.
  • Ability to assist in personal hygiene and activities of daily living.
  • A background in Applied Behaviour Analysis is a plus.
  • A genuine passion for supporting and enhancing the quality of life for individuals with complex needs.
  • Ability to provide a current vulnerable sector check
  • Possess a valid G license and reliable car

    Pay: $27.00-$33.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Design and facilitate programs that cater to the physical, emotional, and social needs of teenagers/youths with special needs.
  • Engage clients in various activities, including arts and crafts, activities of daily living skills, social interactions, peer-connect, outdoor, trail and movement activities, interactive social games, sensory and regulation activities, exercise sessions, hands-on STEM, music activities,
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure that all programs align with individual needs.
  • Provide individual and group support.
  • Collect data on programs and communicate effectively with the RBA/BCBA.
  • Maintain accurate records of clients’ participation and progress in activities.
  • Foster a safe environment.
