Resident Monitor Location: Tarpon Springs, FL Compensation: $16.00/hour FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Department: Operations Reports To: Facility Director Position Overview The Resident Monitor plays a critical role in maintaining the safety, security, and daily operations of a work release facility serving individuals transitioning back into the community. This position combines custodial supervision, documentation, and client interaction to ensure a structured, compliant, and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities * Maintain safety, security, and supervision of residents in a structured work release environment  * Conduct routine counts, inspections, and searches to control contraband and ensure compliance  * Monitor daily resident activities including meals, work assignments, visitation, and recreation  * Complete accurate documentation, reports, logs, and entries in the inmate management system  * Perform intake procedures for new residents, including documentation and file setup  * Respond appropriately to incidents while maintaining professionalism and emotional control  * Identify and report safety, medical, or behavioral concerns  * Enforce policies, procedures, and emergency protocols  * Participate in required trainings and staff meetings  * Support a respectful, structured, and accountable environment for residents and staff  Required Qualifications Education * High School Diploma or GED  Experience * Ability to work in a structured or secure environment  * Willingness to work with justice-involved individuals  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Strong communication and documentation skills  * Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations  * Sound judgment and decision-making skills  * Team-oriented with strong interpersonal boundaries  Licenses / Certifications * Valid Florida driver’s license  * Ability to pass a background screening and meet Florida Department of Corrections requirements  Preferred Qualifications * Experience in corrections, criminal justice, behavioral health, or reentry services  * Prior experience working with justice-involved populations  * College coursework in criminal justice, psychology, social work, or related field  Work Environment This position operates within a secure residential program environment and involves: * Continuous interaction with residents in a structured setting  * Exposure to potentially high-stress or safety-sensitive situations  * Routine documentation and computer-based work  * Physical activity including walking, standing, and monitoring throughout the facility  Schedule Expectations * 12-hour rotating shifts (3–4 days per week)  * Nights, weekends, and holidays required  * Overtime may be available based on operational needs  Benefits Comprehensive Benefits Include: * Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance  * 401(k) Retirement Plan  Generous Paid Time Off: * Up to 25 days of PTO based on tenure  * 7 Wellness Days annually  * 11 Paid Holidays plus 1 Floating Holiday  Work-Life Balance & Growth: * Flexible scheduling options (based on operational needs)  * Professional development support  Additional Perks: * Employee discount programs  * Referral bonuses  Culture At The Transition House, your mental health is our top priority.
