Powder Coating Systems is an equal opportunity employer. Powder Coating Systems is currently looking for an experienced Powder Coater for our day shift. The shift for this position runs Monday through Friday from 5AM to 1:30PM. This is a full-time position. Our Coaters are responsible for: -Using a tablet and a spreadsheet to determine which job is next to be coated. -Identify and weigh the necessary powder prior to coating. -Inspect the rack the parts are on to ensure parts were properly prepared and communicate with the floor team to give constructive feedback. -Log into the tablet prior to coating. -Move the rack from booth to oven and out and ensure the oven temperature and time match the spec sheets. -Clean out the booth between colors and at the end of the shift. -Fulfill cleaning tasks. -Assist on the floor with preparations when necessary. Powder Coating Systems offers the following benefits: -Paid twice a month around the 1st and 15th of the month through Direct Deposit. -Paid Time Off (PTO) that starts accruing from date of hire, but not eligible to be used until after the first ninety days of employment. -6 paid holidays a year after the initial ninety days of employment. (New Year's, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas. -2 Unpaid holidays a year (Normally Black Friday and either a day around Christmas or Independence Day dependent on the calendar.) -Dental and Life Insurance and different other insurances eligible after the initial ninety days. Requirements The following are the minimum requirements for this position. We will not consider your application without these: -2-5 years as a Coater in a Powder Coating operation. (We will make allowances if less than 2 years, but it must be as a coater and not a floor person.) -Valid Driver's License. (This is required to operate our forklifts.) -Reliable transportation to commute to Tacoma. (Our shift begins at 5AM. Although Pierce Transit does have a stop nearby, they are not reliable that early in the morning. We expect punctuality on a daily basis.) -Must be able to repetitively lift 50 pounds. (Our powder boxes average 50 pounds each. We do have hand trucks to move them to our booths.) -Must be able to read and communicate in English. -Original documentation to fulfill the requirements of an I-9 form. (Normally this includes a document that establishes your identity and one that establishes citizenship per Immigration rules. Per Federal Law, we cannot accept copies and must complete this form within 2 days of hire.) The following are not mandatory, but would be nice to have: -Forklift experience. -The ability to understand and read a spreadsheet. -The ability to use a tablet.
