We are now recruiting for a Day Shunter role for Great Bear in Sherburn. Job Description Shift Pattern: 3ON 3OFF - 06:00am-18:00pm Salary: Basic - £14.79 per hour Your job duties will include but not limited to the following. Observing and adhering to company rules, site procedures and all aspects of Health & Safety and Hygiene at all times Effectively managing own working time in line with the Road Transport Directive Liaising with colleagues and ensuring completion of shift report Conducting daily checks, immediately reporting any defects and / or damage and completing associated documentation Carrying out trailer checks on loaded trailers and report to ops staff Completing trailer checklist and reporting to operations desk Carrying out shunting duties including relevant maintenance and safety checks Liaising with the warehouse control and goods in staff to ensure smooth and efficient loading / unloading of trailers Completing vehicles downloads as per the company policy Monitoring services / MOTs – liaising with Transport Office and with service vendor Assisting with fuel delivery / manual dip of fuel Keeping yard in clean / tidy condition Liaising with Transport Office as and when required i.e. special promotions and / or livery schedules Manage the flow of traffic in and out of the yard Qualifications A Full C+E, CPC and Tacho Card would be advantageous. Previous experience of Shunting will be essential.
