Position Summary: The DC Asset Protection Lead is an elevated role from the Asset Protection Team Member position. The Lead is responsible for ensuring the safety and physical security of the facility, managing guard shack operations, and conducting DC Asset Protection investigations. In addition to these duties, the DC Asset Protection Lead will coordinate and schedule DC Asset Protection Team Members, ensuring effective coverage and efficient operations. Key Responsibilities: • Oversee and manage guard shack operations to ensure the security of the truck lot. Conduct regular patrols of the facility to identify and address security risks. Implement and follow security protocols and procedures. • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards. Conduct safety inspections and report any hazards or violations. Promote a safe working environment for all employees. • Assist in conducting investigations into incidents of theft, loss, or damage. Implement controls to minimize total loss and enhance safety. Maintain accurate records of investigations and security incidents. • Assist in monitoring inventory levels and conducting regular audits. Implement inventory control procedures to prevent loss and ensure accuracy. Collaborate with DC Inventory Specialists to maintain accurate inventory records. • Organize and oversee the scheduling of Asset Protection Team Members to ensure optimal coverage and efficient operations. • Provide guidance and support to Asset Protection Team Members. • Facilitate the training and development of Asset Protection Team Members. • Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience: Required: • High school education or equivalent. • At least two years in a similar role in asset protection, security or related field. • Strong knowledge of public safety and security strategies to promote effective, secure operations. • Strong knowledge of security policies, procedures, and regulations. • Strong knowledge of and familiarity with problems that arise in safeguarding building and grounds and the procedures used in dealing with them. • Will be required to attend and complete ongoing de-escalation and intervention training to maintain skill and remain current on compliance matters relating to the field. Preferred: • Certification in security or asset protection • Investigation certification. Required Skills and Abilities: • Strong leadership and team coordination skills. • Excellent attention to detail and investigation skills. • Ability to follow and implement security protocols and procedures. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Other Requirements: • Work is primarily performed in a warehouse, office setting but can include outdoor conditions/environment. • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and have the physical ability to drive a vehicle for job related travel. Physical Demands & Environmental Conditions • The Team Member must be able to frequently (46-100% of the workday): o Use eyesight to complete tasks (i.e. monitoring surveillance, checking alarms, monitoring for suspicious activity). o Sit and speak o Use repetitive motions while working, this may include repetitive motions with the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. o Operate machinery (office equipment, company vehicle) • The Team Member must be able to occasionally (16-45% of the workday): o Reach at shoulder level o Stand and walk up to 600 feet at a time o Work in varying temperatures (i.e., heat and cold, when patrolling exterior) o Work in humidity and other outdoor elements (i.e., precipitation and wind when patrolling exterior) • The Team Member must be able to rarely (0-15% of the workday): o Bend/stoop/crouch to retrieve items from low positions o Kneel and squat to examine items at low positions o Climb (i.e. on ladder to examine and monitor items at high positions) o Lift up to 50 pounds from ground to chest level o Reach above shoulder level and below waist o Push/Pull
Responsibilities
The DC Asset Protection Lead ensures the physical security and safety of the facility by managing guard shack operations and conducting security patrols. They are also responsible for leading investigations into theft or loss and coordinating the scheduling and training of Asset Protection Team Members.
