Support Engineer - Workplace Technology Services is a highly visible infrastructure role that requires commitment to providing a high-quality service to meet customer project demand.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING AS OUR SUPPORT ENGINEER - WORKPLACE TECHNOLOGY SERVICES:

  • Build, Rack and Stack Network and Server hardware in Data Centre Halls and co-lo’s and provide connectivity.
  • Perform Network Hardware break-fix activities e.g. replacing power supplies, modules, fans etc.
  • Monitor the client’s ticket system and ensure tickets are assigned and completed within SLA.
  • Carry out all types of patching / jumpering including all types of voice & data, copper & fibre.
  • Carry out testing and fault finding on Copper and Fibre Cabling Infrastructure (including ISDN Line Tests) using a variety of modern testers to include continuity testers, tone generators and modern cabling standards testers.
  • Carry out all types of Copper Voice and Data terminations as required by the Onnec portfolio of cabling systems.
  • Audit and document existing cabling installations.
  • Audit and document desktop configuration, including patching and power, for existing and proposed user locations.
  • Compile patching schedules as required.
  • Utilise Cable Management Software as required for patching planning.
  • Provide connectivity support to desktop users.
  • Power down and disconnect all desktop equipment including any peripherals ensuring all identified and labelled correctly ready for reconnection.
  • IMAC-D of all desktop equipment including any peripherals
  • Maintain accurate records of all stock delivered and update as stock is used and advise line manager of any requirements, shortfalls.
  • Carry out surveys and update drawings and schedules.
