The Opportunity BDS is seeking a successful, driven DCA technician for our Remote Support and Customer service teams, reporting directly to the DCA Manager. This position will provide support for the collection of data from our large fleet of single- and multi-function printer/copiers. The technician will also provide high level internal and external support for our various DCA platforms. They will implement and develop strategies around leveraging our DCA platforms for preventative maintenance. The candidate must be a strong learner and demonstrate skill in working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment. To be successful in this position you should be a team player, highly organized, and have proficient computer skills. Your Impact at BDS Work with our excellent customer base to establish a Digital Collection Agent in their environment. Generate accurate and timely data and reports for the sales team ahead of the sale, ensuring sales rep success. Work with field service to put devices on Digital Collection Agent platforms as the need arises. Proactively assess devices that have stopped reporting and engaging the customer to get those devices reconnected. Work closely with billing and supplies to make sure that devices are reporting ahead of the sale. Engage managed print service customers to connect printers for pre-contract analysis Troubleshoot connection issues including but not limited to DNS, Gateway, and Firewall issues Align with our customer service teams to support a preventative maintenance strategy for our customers, ensuring the maximum uptime possible. Requirements What You will Need to be Successful Working knowledge of basic networking Strong working knowledge of copier technology preferred but not required 1+ year(s) of experience working within a customer support department supporting the technical needs of clients such as office equipment repair, IT, manufacturing equipment, service-based business or related industry preferred but not required. Able to self-teach, willingness to do on-the-job trainings Strong customer service experience, capable of working with frustrated customers Self-driven – ability to work remotely – KPIs will be assessed Excellent written and verbal communicator, strong attention to detail Ability to work with coworkers and ability to work independently High school diploma or GED required. Strong systems skills including Excel, Microsoft office Can-do Attitude and a willingness to learn Work Environment Office-Hybrid/Remote Physical Demands Sitting, standing, walking, light lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods to perform computer and telephone-based tasks. Must be able to operate a computer, telephone and keyboard. Close vision requirements due to computer work.
