Description
Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As Project Engineering Lead, you’ll shape and drive all design and engineering workstreams. You’ll break down scopes into actionable plans, manage delivery, and align with procurement and programme timelines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing engineering and design plans, including RAID logs, CDM docs, and interface controls
  • Leading technical teams and contractors, ensuring designs are consent-compliant, buildable, and operationally sound
  • Overseeing design progress, managing interfaces, and integrating feedback from planning, operations, and delivery teams
  • Ensuring safety and quality standards are met, and identifying optimisations to boost project value
  • Defining technical team needs and supporting procurement of engineering services

You’ll be central to turning great engineering into real-world renewable projects—on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE GREAT AT THIS ROLE?

You’ll hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related field in addition to:

  • Proven experience in engineering project management, including managing budgets, schedules, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong technical background with the ability to address and resolve complex engineering challenges.
  • Experience with large-scale infrastructure or energy projects; previous experience in battery energy storage systems (BESS) or solar PV development is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact effectively with senior management, clients, and stakeholders.

Location: The role is primarily remote, with monthly travel to London (up to three days at a time) and occasional UK travel to project sites, other EDF offices, and meetings. Extended travel may be required occasionally but is expected to be rare.
Closing date: 19th June 2025
