Description
Oversee load balancers, Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB) equipment, Content Delivery Network (CDN) platforms, and troubleshoot client/server issues. Handle proactive and reactive outages, work with vendors, and take ownership of network incidents, escalations, and root cause analysis. Lead backbone network design and architecture for on-premises and public cloud migration, and build hybrid connectivity solutions. Work with business unit leadership, product managers, and customers to develop project objectives, timelines, and feature requirements. Support network system availability, manage network capacity, and ensure compliance with Information Security standards. Deploy equipment, manage SSL certificate hosting and renewal, and build infrastructure for data centers and cloud environments. Implement and continually improve operational procedures, systems, and network engineering best practices. Offer on-call support, monitor infrastructure and hosted services, and troubleshoot complex issues. Manage and influence global teams, provide guidance and support, and mentor team members in areas of expertise. Communicate incident impacts, risks, and mitigation plans to executives, document incident information, and create network engineering documentation and best practices. Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve software, hardware, system and network issues Design and validate the performance, quality, and reliability of the managed services Partner with other teams to understand their requirements in IP allocations and ensure proper sizing is requested. Collaborate with different teams to ensure the optimized performance of DNS for public records and services. Work with security team to evaluate threats, troubleshoot issues, and comply with appropriate security configuration standards of their organizations. Design and deploy changes to the configurations of clients as per the applicable change management process. Make use of testing and diagnostic tools to assess and modify equipment. Manage migrations from bare metal to VM for critical services. Support L1 and L2 with client trouble reports. Work with vendors on software upgrade paths and complete the upgrades across the global network. Interface with, and utilize, vendor specific as well as home-grown tools to ensure operational tasks are performing as expected. Be part of an on-call rotation, monitor overall service performance, implement changes when needed. Create, design and document new implementation solutions. Improve overall network performance with optimization. Continually prove and improve disaster recovery plans and processes. Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years working experience with DDI technologies, IPAM tools, specifically Infoblox Working knowledge of Python, API calls and design and DNS records, DNSSEC, Zone transfers Broad understanding of network technologies as a whole Ability to troubleshoot multiple client device types: iPads, phones, laptops Self-motivated to identify issues, and own them to completion Ability to manage partners and escalations Ability to work well with internal and external teams
