JOB SUMMARY

At Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S), we supply and maintain vital equipment and services for the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force. Together, we deliver a vast range of essential defence programmes, and strive for what’s next. Because it helps keep our military at the top of their game and our nation safe – for today, and tomorrow.
We offer 25+ days’ holiday, flexible and hybrid working, enhanced parental leave schemes, shopping discounts, and an exceptional employer pension contribution of 28.97%, to help make work work for you.
This role requires you to have lived in the UK for the last 10 years and obtain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance. Clearance must be obtained without any caveats that prevent you from carrying out the role you have been recruited for. If it isn’t obtained or is obtained but with caveats that prevent you from carrying out the role, any conditional offer made to you will be withdrawn. Obtaining DV security clearance can be a lengthy process. If clearance isn’t obtained within 12 months, we reserve the right to withdraw any conditional offer made.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Looking for a role with real-world impact? Join Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) as an IT service manager and support the defence of the UK. As part of our team, you’ll play a pivotal role in advancing critical defence capabilities and driving technological excellence.
You’ll become part of a diverse team dedicated to the successful delivery of innovative logistic and engineering applications under the Bridging the Gap (BtG) prime contract with Boeing Defence UK. In addition, you’ll take charge of overseeing the service delivery of the AirCore application, managed under a separate prime contract with Unisys. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate closely with both industry suppliers and defence teams, fostering strong partnerships and ensuring seamless service delivery.
You’ll have the opportunity to lead and manage a variety of activities, from security patching and outage management to in-service changes and safety oversight. You’ll also handle commercial governance and financial considerations related to these applications. Plus, you’ll work closely with front line command representatives at both staff and command levels, making a tangible difference every day.
We champion flexible ways of working. Regular in-person attendance is required to promote the benefits of face-to-face collaboration alongside flexibility of hours to support work-life balance. Initially, you may be expected to attend more frequently to familiarise yourselves with the site, the team, and your role.
