The Dealer Relationship Manager (DRM) will be responsible for fostering and strengthening relationships with motor dealers to drive the sales and distribution of motor value-added products (VAPs). This role requires a strategic approach to dealer engagement, product sales, performance management, and product education, ensuring a seamless partnership that supports mutual growth, customer retention, and satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Matric Certificate or Equivalent NQF Level 4 Qualification
  • Higher Certificate / Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent NQF Level 7 Qualification in Sales Management
  • Business Management, Marketing or related field (FAIS Accreditation)

Knowledge and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in sales or dealer relationship management, preferably in the financial services, automotive or motor VAP industries.
  • Strong knowledge of motor value-added products including warranties, service plans and maintenance plans.
  • Knowledge of effective sales strategies and best practice
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and managing dealer networks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other digital tools to manage sales processes and customer interaction.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications i.e. Ms Word, Ms PowerPoint, Ms Excel, Ms Outlook.
  • Strong knowledge of the automotive industry, including current trends, market demands, and competitor activities.
  • Ability to adjust strategies and approaches in response to changing market conditions and dealer needs.
  • Advanced skills in data analytics and reporting to drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Experience in training or coaching dealer teams to enhance their sales performance.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the sales and profitability of motor value-added products (VAPs), ensuring achievement of financial targets for the dealer network.
  • Develop and implement strategies and promotions to optimize revenue growth.
  • Develop and implement strategies to acquire new business and increase market share on regulated and non-regulated products.
  • Achievement of monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets in line with annual budget.
  • Monitor dealer performance metrics, including sales volumes, revenue contributions, and cost management, to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Build and maintain strong, trust -based relationships with dealers to foster long -term partnerships.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for dealers, providing exceptional service to address inquiries, resolve issues, and enhance dealer satisfaction.
  • Conduct training sessions to educate dealer teams on the benefits, features, and sales techniques for motor VAPs.
  • Regularly gather and analyze customer and dealer feedback to inform product development and service improvements.
  • Support dealers in promoting motor VAPs effectively through tailored marketing and sales strategies.
  • Drive effective Dealer Dashboard discussions at Management Level.
  • Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs and discussions.
  • Ensure accurate and timeous processing of policy sales invoices (daily, weekly or monthly).
  • Ensure accurate and timeous collection and receipting of all sales payments due by Dealers.
  • Timeous submission of all work to Policy Admin business units.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards in all dealer transactions and sales processes.
  • Regularly review dealer contracts and agreements to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to agreed terms.
  • Identify potential risks related to product misrepresentation or service delivery and work with relevant teams to address issues proactively.
  • Maintain accurate and transparent records of all dealer interactions and sales activities for auditing and governance purposes.
  • Escalation of any risks to company or client brand to line management in a timeous manner.
  • Adhere to Pricing Governance Framework, including processes and required sign-off.
  • Create a culture of ownership and accountability throughout the organization in support of our values.
  • Act as brand and values ambassador for the company in all dealer interactions.
  • Actively collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to align strategies and achieve common goals.
  • Mentor and support dealer teams to improve their product knowledge and sales capabilities.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the dealer network, ensuring adaptability to industry changes and new product launches.
