Ngā Kōrero mo tēnei tūranga / About the role: The Business Restructuring Services (BRS) practice in Pōneke / Wellington partner with organisations across Aotearoa to solve complex financial and operational challenges. From advising directors and lenders on performance improvement and turnaround strategies, to managing formal insolvency appointments. Our work is diverse and commercially focused, blending analytical rigour, financial insight, and a practical, people-first mindset to help clients regain control and create stability. The BRS team is high-performing and close-knit, with a mix of experienced leaders and emerging talent who share a collaborative, upbeat culture. There’s real trust and autonomy in how work gets done, balanced with strong mentoring, open communication, and plenty of support. Responsibilities will include: Restructuring Advisory Engagements Manage restructuring projects, quickly assessing business performance and identifying key financial drivers, risks, and opportunities. Develop and deliver practical, commercially focused recommendations for turnarounds and performance improvement. Build trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders; management, employees, creditors, and advisors, while being comfortable having honest conversations when needed. Insolvency Engagements Manage or support a portfolio of insolvency cases including liquidations, receiverships, and administrations. Handle asset management, stakeholder communications, and detailed financial analysis. Prepare financial statements and statutory reports with precision and accuracy. General Build and nurture relationships with referrers and clients to identify new business opportunities. Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to our collaborative, high-performing culture. Work closely with our national BRS team, balancing autonomy with strong team support. Ngā pūkenga kei a koe / Skills and experience: Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Law or related area. CA, CPA, CFA qualification is advantageous. Experience across insolvency or restructuring preferably within a professional services environment is advantageous but not essential. A strong grasp of standard business processes and stakeholder management, along with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills. Resilient and flexible to work collaboratively and autonomously across a fast-paced environment. A desire to build a career within a globally recognised organisation.
