Metropolitan College, the largest College of University Studies in Greece and member of Alphabet Education, in the context of its continuous development, is seeking to enhance its Academic Team, in Piraeus Campus, with a: Dean of Maritime Academy | Piraeus Campus Role Overview: The Dean of the Maritime Academy is responsible for shaping and implementing a unified strategic vision that ensures academic excellence, regulatory compliance, and programs consistency. The Dean fosters innovation in maritime education, ensuring alignment with international maritime standards and industry needs, while maintaining consistent academic quality and student experience. The role involves leading organizational development, strengthening partnerships with maritime institutions and industry stakeholders, and enhancing the Academy’s reputation. Role Accountabilities: Develops and implements strategic plans for the Maritime Academy’s growth and academic excellence. Ensure program’s consistency and alignment with international maritime standards and policies of collaborated university Leads partnerships with maritime organizations, shipping companies, etc. Drives innovation in maritime curriculum and training methodologies, including simulation-based learning. Ensures high academic standards and compliance with maritime regulatory frameworks. Oversees curriculum development, as well as the development and delivery of maritime training courses (including STCW and other approved courses), ensuring alignment with academic standards, regulatory requirements, and industry expectations. Oversees curriculum development, certification programmes, and training delivery. Monitors programme performance, cadet outcomes, and employability metrics. Promotes continuous improvement and benchmarking against leading Maritime Academy. Critical Experience & Qualifications: You will be an ideal candidate if you: Hold a postgraduate degree (Master’s or PhD preferred) in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, or a related field. Have a minimum of 8–10 years of senior leadership experience in higher education or maritime training. Possess extensive experience in maritime education and training, ideally within a multi-campus or international environment. Demonstrate a proven track record in leading complex maritime training projects, including programme development, certification and compliance processes, and the implementation of advanced simulation-based training environments. Have strong knowledge of international maritime regulations (e.g. STCW). Demonstrate experience in academic quality assurance and accreditation processes.
