Roles & Responsibilities

Assist Provost and Vice Chancellor Academic as needed to support strategic goals. Lead and manage Academy s research profile both internally and externally, research budget and income through research and innovation activities and lead on delivering Academy s research strategy. Provide leadership in organising seminars, conferences and symposia to enhance Academy s research profile by engaging with all relevant stakeholders. Provide strategic leadership and build a supportive and facilitative research culture among staff and students and foster greater achievements in research & innovation at the Academy. Foster a strong research community by providing tailored support and professional development for academic staff, enhancing their research achievements and by working closely with the Head of Learning and Teaching to ensure research filters through to classroom teaching in line with global best practices in applied Higher Education. Work closely with College Deans, Program Heads, Institutional Effectiveness, and business partners to ensure academic programs are benefiting from research. Lead and successfully develop post graduate research and provide support in the development of post graduate taught programs. Champion Academy s digital research ecosystem by working closely with the Librarian and Professional Support Staff. Monitor research provisions in accordance with the UAE Ministry of Education's standards, supporting year-on-year continuous improvement.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications

E: PhD in an academic field

P: Recognised qualification for teaching in Higher Education

P: Relevant industry body affiliation/ membership

Experience

E: Effective and significant academic leadership on matters related to research and innovation

E: Minimum of 5 years of academic leadership experience on higher education including evidence of successful change management program

E: Academic standing and credibility, with evident experience with research and innovation including successful in winning and delivering major grants, internationally excellent/ world-leading outputs and/ or impact case studies and successful innovation activities.

E: Strong understanding of digital learning technologies including research database and support facilities.

P: Familiarity with the UAE's Higher Education landscape, including CAA initiatives, policies and practices.

Skills

E: Ability to fluently speak, write and communicate in English at the highest level of professionalism.

E: Team player, approachable, sensitive towards all cultures

E: Capable of working effectively under pressure, with a commitment to completing tasks promptly and efficiently.
