Overview:
The Dean oversees Student Support for Academics within the residential academy. Oversight encompasses all aspects related to the students’ academic experience from initial placement and scheduling to ongoing academic support throughout the students’ three years at the Academy. The Dean also guides the Academy’s efforts to make certain every student is known, challenged and supported academically in equitable ways. Inherent in this role is the willingness and ability to collaborate with, gather and consider input from students, parents and staff, including faculty. In addition, the Dean will collaborate with the Principal, the Dean of Academics and Equity, and the Dean of Scholars to support the Academy’s mission.
The internationally recognized Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy® (IMSA) develops creative, ethical leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. As a teaching and learning laboratory created by the State of Illinois, IMSA enrolls academically talented Illinois students (grades 10-12) in its advanced, residential college preparatory program. WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed in an office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Substantial time is spent working on a computer.
