The Server/Bartender at the Gazebo is an essential part of the food and beverage (F&B) team who serves as the face of customer service to our members and guests during the beach/pool season. This is a professional role who works collaboratively with the F&B team to create a positive, fun, and casual dining experience for our members and guests. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides food and beverage service to club members and guests. Vibrantly greets and acknowledges every member and guest in a friendly and timely manner that is warm and welcoming. Accurately takes and processes orders from members using a POS system. Communicates all orders per DeBordieu procedure to ensure kitchen staff are aware of special accommodations (e.g., food allergy) when needed. Answers questions about the menu and offers suggestions and/or substitutions. Efficiently serves food and drinks in a friendly and courteous manner, offers suggestions on daily specials and wine selections. Able to describe the selection of food and beverage menu items to guests. Prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to approved standard recipes and guest preferences. Requires knowledge of all aspects of mixology including food/wine pairings and wine presentation and service. Maintains a clean and organized bar area, including stocking supplies and cleaning glassware. Collaborates with the kitchen and waitstaff to ensure smooth operation and timely service. Stays up to date with industry trends and new beverage offerings. Inspects the bar prior to opening to ensure that adequate supplies are available. Prepares garnishes, fruits mixes and pre-mixed drinks prior to opening the bar. Maintains records of liquors, beers and wine to ensure bar stock is sustained. Cleans and locks the bar area according to prescribed closing procedures. Ensures that all food items are correctly stored, labeled, dated and rotated to prevent any health or safety hazards from occurring, and takes precautions against possible spoilage. Attends pre-meal meetings as requested. Consistently follows local and state laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages to members and guests. Completes opening and closing duties and side work. Maintains safe work habits and work environment. Attends pre-shift: and designated staff meetings as well as training sessions. Performs any other reasonable duties as required by management. Maintains high standard of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing proper and complete uniform and name tag. Education and/or Experience High School/GED Minimum of one year work experience serving/bartending in a restaurant or food establishment. The ability to read, write and execute basic math skills. Licenses and Special Requirements Must be at least 21 to tend the bar. Alcoholic beverage certification is a plus. Food safety certification is a plus. Country Club or Golf Club experience is a plus but not required. Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. CPR/AED and/or First Aid Certification is a plus but not required. Physical Demands and Work Environment Required to stand for long periods and walks, climbs stairs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, bends, stretches and twists or reaches. Carries and balances a tray to get food to the designated table. Pushes, pulls or lifts up to 50 pounds. Continuous repetitive motions. Works in a hot, humid and noisy environment.
