Requirements Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations Strong attention to detail, knowledge of ingredients, and follows standardized recipes. Demonstrates a deep knowledge of food safety standards including time and temperature standards, and proper chilling and heating techniques. Proficient working knowledge of proper food handling procedures. Operates and cleans kitchen equipment and food stations safely and responsibly. Maintains proper portion control and minimizes waste. Understands hygiene, sanitation, and food safety rules; maintains the highest sanitary and safe conditions. Shows impeccable personal hygiene standards Strong knowledge of state and local health and safety regulations. Works in an environment that is fast-paced and high in demand. Takes pride in presentation and execution of every dish served in accordance with Beach Club’s standards. Education and Experience Requirements High School diploma or GED required. Post-secondary vocational training at a culinary institution is preferred. Food Safety Certification American Culinary Federation Certification or applicable hospitality association. Two or more years of work experience as a line cook or similar in a casual fine dining establishment. Country Club or Golf Club experience is a plus but not required. Food safety certification preferred. Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. CPR/AED and/or First Aid Certification a plus.
