Description About HPF: Houston Precision Fasteners produces high strength, fatigue rated, close tolerance fasteners using materials such as carbon steel, alloy steel, nickel alloy, titanium, waspaloy, A-286, monel and multiphase. Our fasteners have supported mission aircrafts such as; Joint Strike Fighters, F/A 18 Super Hornet, and Falcon 9; just to name a few. We are dedicated to providing a superior product to our customers. Job purpose: The Deburr Technician will hand finish and deburr a wide variety of precision metal parts, will follow established procedures to shape and smooth metal surfaces of various fabricated parts using appropriate tools, clean-up of all grinding and filing, and perform all related burr removal. Key responsibilities and accountabilities: Operate deburr equipment and machinery Inspect or measure finished work pieces to determine conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as gauges or micrometers Measure work pieces and lay out work, using precision measuring devices Observe machine operations to detect any problems, making necessary adjustments to correct problems Move machine controls to index work pieces, and to adjust machines for pre-selected operational settings Study blueprints, work orders, or machining instructions to determine product specifications, tool requirements, and operational sequences Employee Acknowledgement: The above information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by HPF employees. Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities Requirements Professional Skills: 1-2 years of related experience desired Strong attention to detail Basic knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control including knowledge of deburr processes Basic knowledge of arithmetic and conversions of measurements Skilled in basic quality control analysis (conducting tests and inspections of products and materials to ensure precision and conformance) Knowledge of 6S principles Physical Requirements and Working Condition: Subject to environmental conditions -protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed Subject to hazards to include a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals Subject to loud constant noise Subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for prolonged periods of time, climb steps, and ladders • Must be able to lift up to 45lbs
