POSITION SUMMARY

The Deckhand is a hands-on role responsible for supporting the safe and efficient execution of waterfront construction projects. Working under the direction of the Foreman or Lead Hand, this role contributes to day-to-day site operations, equipment readiness, and the deliver of high-quality work product. The Deckhand plays a key part in ensuring safety compliance, assisting with marine and construction tasks, and maintaining tools and materials.
This position is based out of 507 – 1000 Islands Parkway, Lansdowne, Ontario, and primarily involves on-site work in outdoor and marine environments. Overnight travel may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3+ years of labourer, marine, or deckhand field experience.
  • Completion of secondary school preferred.
  • Valid Class G driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Willing and able to obtain Class “A” Restricted License.
  • Comfortable with physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs and repetitive motion.
  • Willing to travel for out-of-town/overnight work as required.
  • Welding and/or heavy equipment operating experience an asset
  • Experience operating small boats or tugs (SVOP) is an asset.
  • Ability to use a cell phone with data for time tracking and communications.
