Following the successful launch of a new and modernised HR Services for Civilian Staff, Defence have launched this exciting programme to evolve and expand the Oracle Fusion platform across the whole of the Defence Enterprise. But this is far more than just a digitalisation programme; we will be simplifying and standardising policy and processes to enable innovative new services that enhance the lives of all civil servants, military staff, and their dependants wherever they are serving across the globe. We will provide Leaders and HR Professionals with the user centric tools needed to manage their staff effectively, whilst improving the lived experience for everyone. This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The User Design Lead will guide the strategy, execution and innovation of our user experience and interface design. As a key member of the team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create intuitive, engaging and visually compelling digital experiences. You will be responsible for working with the internal team, delivery partners and across services, to drive User-centric design solutions and ensuring consistency across our digital products. You will be responsible for bringing the voice of the HR Customer and End Users to ensure that the products for their specific area of ownership, meets the needs of Defence across the breadth of end user personas and in scope communities.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST BE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE THEIR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS AGAINST THE FOLLOWING ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • You will have experience of developing customer focused solutions meeting the need of both professional and end users
  • Demonstrable experience working in assurance for a major programme
  • Project management experience
  • Experience in delivering major programmes and projects to a high standard.
  • An excellent communicator with experience of summarising complex issues for seniors and governance forums.
  • A driven individual, who has ample experience of progressing multiple workstreams in parallel.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

  • Experience of working within a Shared Service environment and/or Implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning System, with an understanding of the basic building blocks to successful delivery.
  • Experience of the Ministry of Defence, particularly in Project Delivery or Military Personnel policy.
  • Agile delivery experience in a service environment.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • One of the following recognised project delivery qualifications, such as:
  • Managing Successful Programmes Practitioner or equivalent demonstrable experience /qualification.
  • APM Registered Project Professional
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner
  • Agile

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance.
