JOB DESCRIPTION

The Service Enterprise Architect supports the implementation of the Digital, Data and Technology strategy for DBS and the vision set by the Chief Technology Officer. The role has specific responsibility for ensuring that all solutions have clear and suitable supporting processes and standards.

The post holder will:

  • Define the forward vision, strategy and roadmap for DBS services in conjunction with DBS leadership
  • Design service models and reference artifacts helping other architects to interpret business needs
  • Ensure DBS DIT service design supports the needs for the functions through liaison with function business architecture leads.
  • Design, support and provide guidance for effective processes to support the technical DBS vision
  • Provide oversight and advice to other architects who are undertaking the design of solutions
  • Collaborate with solution architects to ensure that the organisation’s systems are designed in accordance with the appropriate service architecture standards
  • Lead in definition of governance, processes, and tooling to manage service development across the DBS enterprise
  • Engage with MOD, industry, and government wide service experts to identify and implement most suitable service architecture practice.
  • Lead / oversee enterprise service architecture aspects of technical initiatives.
  • Lead, coach and mentor colleagues in service architecture concepts and standards
  • Support Chief Technical Officer as required
