JOB DESCRIPTION

The Data Quality Analyst Officer position works within the Defence Business Services (DBS) Digital, Information and Technology (DIT) pillar, collaboratively overseeing and reporting on the quality of data across various DBS systems. They will serve as one of the data quality subject matter experts within DBS DIT, providing expert input on data quality issues and supporting corporate transformation programmes, projects, and changes.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week with at least 60% office attendance in Bristol.
To assist DBS data quality managers in overseeing and providing DBS data quality services to ensure DBS data integrity and enhance DBS services and management information. Collaborate with DBS data technicians, analysts, and subject matter experts to enhance DBS data quality and deliver high quality outputs to DBS customers.

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report data quality issues.
  • Offer expertise on data capture, management, maintenance, and data quality issues.
  • Analyse data quality using analytical techniques.
  • Take a proactive role in developing and enhancing the quality of data held within the DBS systems. This includes identifying data quality issues, implementing robust data validation processes, and collaborating with relevant stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all platforms.
  • Ensure data quality for DBS DIT products and services as directed by the DQ Line Manager.
  • Monitor data quality across multiple sources and reporting in MI Systems.
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues through working groups.
  • Conduct investigations on underlying data quality issues and drive process improvements.
  • Support the business to ensure that data is understood, used and shared effectively across the organisation.
  • Provide guidance on improving data quality within Civilian HR, and other functional areas.
  • Collaborate with DBS teams on Civilian HR, Security, Finance, Commercial, Contracts, and Procurement teams to understand business processes and data needs.
  • Understand customer business and data requirements to provide appropriate support and services.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external customers and Defence groups, including organising Customer Data working groups.
  • Support projects and services to meet customer current and future needs as directed by DQ Line Manager.
  • Contribute to the design of new data services to meet customer requirements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with colleagues in DBS DIT for coordinated and cohesive work effort
  • Assist other DBS DIT data quality managers when needed.
