JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an Information Manager to support complex projects and programmes within a high-performing team.

You will be required to:

  • Implement and maintain effective information management (IM) processes in line with Defence and Defence Digital policies.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders on a daily basis.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and support on all aspects of information management, promoting best practice within the Strategic Services area.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate data risks in a complex delivery environment.
  • Maintain filing structures and manage SharePoint sites, access rights, and permissions.
  • Conduct Information Asset Reviews and assurance activities.
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding, ensuring appropriate IT access and equipment.
  • Drive IM maturity for Strategic Services.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and JSP441 for records management.
  • Monitor and manage information security risks.
  • Develop and maintain the IM plan, contributing to the wider organisational strategy and IM maturity.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

We’ll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:

  • GKIM CT01 – Impact of change on the use of information (Working)
  • GKIM IE01 – Sharing and exploiting information to support the organisations goals (Working)
  • GKIM IE04 – Managing corporate collaboration and document storage spaces (Working)

HYBRID WORKING

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office will also count towards this level of attendance. Applicants can request further information regarding how this may work in their team from the vacancy holder (see advert for contact details). This position is advertised at 37 hours per week. The successful candidate is required to carry out all their duties from a UK location and cannot do so from an overseas location at any time.
The post does not offer relocation expenses.
External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.

    If you are invited to interview, this will be a face to face interview and will take place at MOD Corsham, Westwells Road, Corsham, SN13 9NR. This role requires you to be on site for 4 days of the week should you be successful.
