Position Overview The Defense Cyber SME will support the planning, analysis, development, and operations of the DoD’s preeminent cyber training platform. The candidate will work closely with stakeholders and senior management to define requirement scope, create and implement overarching strategy and execution approaches, develop schedules, and ensure products and processes best support the needs of the Cyber Mission Force. The candidate will work with a team of highly technical cybersecurity engineers, cyber range engineers, software developers, and other IT professionals to design and implement cybersecurity training systems and platform products in support of the DoD enterprise cyber mission. The Cyber SME will provide overarching guidance for program activities. The Cyber SME is expected to have a strong Defense Cybersecurity Operations and IT background and will work closely with technical staff and customers to define and refine solutions, technical approaches, tradeoffs, and risks. Responsibilities Ability to work with customers and technical staff to define requirements, create solutions that meet cost and schedule constraints, and oversee the execution of work. Assigning tasks and responsibilities to team, tracking status and ensuring tasks are completed on schedule and within budget. Creation and delivery of presentations and written documents that convey complex technical information to senior leadership in a meaningful, understandable manner Acting as a primary point of contact for all customer reporting, issues or concerns Performing horizontal integration planning and execution activities across verticals Ensuring technical solutions implemented effectively and efficiently throughout the program, specifically ensuring that development activities best support the needs of the Defense Cyber Mission Forces. Ensuring the highest quality of task completion, meeting contractual performance criteria and deliverables in accordance with the contract . Responsible for developing long-term and strategic objectives to help ensure that end user requirements will be satisfied in future years of the contract. Support for business development and capture of new work, proposal development, technical solutioning, and other related activities. Required Experience/Qualifications Bachelor's degree required in an IT related major. Advanced degree/studies and/or military technical training education preferred. A minimum of 10 years of experience working in complex projects and programs for the federal government. A minimum of 5 years of experience working directly in DoD cybersecurity projects Experience working in complex IT development projects, using Agile principles and methods. Experience with planning, estimating, organizing, staffing and executing projects at scale, including multiple, distributed teams. Experience at the leadership level executing technical programs for the DoD using Agile methodologies. Experience with Federal cybersecurity organizations, policies, programs and structures – experience and relationships with DoD USCYBERCOM or Service Cyber Components. Experience developing technical solutions that address critical customer needs. Experience with organizing and coordinating the planning and production of client deliveries. Experience with meeting and completing tasks assignments within estimated periods and budget constraints. Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision. Ability to establish an effective working relationship with senior-level customers, technical staff, managers and peers. Exceptional communication and presentation abilities with a demonstrated capability to coordinate and align efforts between government customers, senior executives, subcontractors and team members. Must be able to understand multi-level customer/user expectations and concerns, and to assure customer(s) that the program is being managed effectively. Experienced knowledge of Federal Government acquisition processes including FAR, DID, CDRLS, etc. Special Requirements/Security Clearance Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U. S. Citizenship status with a TOP SECRET/SCI with Polygraph security clearance. Security Clearance requirements will be specified in the Government's Task Order. This position will require travel, both domestically and internationally.
