THE POSITION

Wilson Elser’s Madison, NJ office is looking for a Defense Litigation Associate Attorney to join a team of exceptional professionals in a collaborative environment to represent sophisticated clients confronted with complex legal challenges.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • JD from an ABA accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice in the state of New Jersey
  • 3+ years of insurance defense litigation, particularly in areas of premises liability, general liability, personal injury.
  • Deposition, motion practice, and report writing required
  • Trial and trial preparation experience preferred
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to integrate into a fast-team-oriented oriented environment
  • Sophisticated technical skills necessary
Responsibilities
  • Proactively handle a litigation caseload from beginning to end, under the supervision and guidance of senior attorney
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations
  • Draft case analysis reports to clients with an eye towards developing proactive resolution strategies
  • Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients, demonstrating strong advocacy and negotiation skills
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, contributing to a cohesive and supportive team environment
