Job Purpose The Defensive Skills Day Instructor coaches students on defensive and driving skills through one-on-one driving lessons in a company provided vehicle on the weekends. They provide accurate responses to defensive driving and the rules of the road through an interactive and positive learning environment. Working as part of the DriveSafe team, they ensure a positive and informational experience. Qualifications 23 years of age or older Colorado Driver's License Safe driving history - a Motor Vehicle Record check will be reviewed Applicants must pass a criminal background check Demonstrated teaching or mentoring abilities Excellent interpersonal skills Energetic personality where you can keep the students engaged Bilingual in Spanish is a plus Physical Requirements The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Physical requirements include operating a motor vehicle (compact sedans e.g. Toyota Corolla), moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in tight and confined spaces, remaining in a stationary sitting position for prolonged periods, bending, pulling, and moving objects up to 30 pounds. Job Details Be able to sit, stand, bend over, pick up cones for up to 9 hours Be able to withstand inclement weather (rain, shine, snow), and dress appropriately (we provide bottled water, sunscreen, and hand warmers) Be able to stack cones, pulling the break of the skid pads (ability to lift 30lbs). Be able to pick up the defensive skills day cars at the beginning of their shift and drop the vehicles off at their location Must possess a charismatic personality, where you keep the students engaged Able to travel between locations (Highlands Ranch, Parker, Lakewood, Commerce City, Federal Heights). Hours will be 7:30-4PM on the Weekends only Expected to pick up the company vehicle (7:30am), and arrive to the location of the defensive skills day by 8am (30 minutes from any location) Expected to arrive at the driving skills days specific location at 8am Benefits Starting pay rate: $20/hourly. As a pre-employment step, candidates are asked to provide a copy of their 7-Year Motor Vehicle Record to demonstrate safe driving history.
